This deeply emotional drama, which was nominated for César Awards for Finest Actress and Finest Tailored Screenplay, stars Vicky Krebs as Clarice, a mom coping with main emotional turmoil, and Arieh Wertalter as Mark, the husband she leaves behind. Krieps offers a terrific efficiency as a lady on the run from her household for causes that are not instantly obvious to the viewers.

Amalric’s evolving narrative alternates between Clarice’s adventures on the street and scenes of her abandoned husband as he struggles to care for his or her kids, Paul and Lucy, a pianist prodigy. Whereas giving us some clues alongside the best way, Amalric retains viewers uncertain of what they’re actually seeing till the film’s remaining moments.
